Eric Schneiderman, the former attorney general of New York state who was accused of physically abusing women, won’t face criminal charges, prosecutors said Thursday. In May, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo asked Madeline Singas, the Nassau County district attorney, to investigate allegations in a report in the New Yorker magazine that Mr. Schneiderman had choked and hit women with whom he was romantically involved.
