Brian McClair was academy director from 2006 to 2015, and oversaw McTominay's progression through the ranks from the age of ten. The youngster began his promising career as a centre forward before he was converted to a midfielder, where he plays today. "Scott McTominay had all sorts of problems with his growth. McTominay grew up at the club alongside another youngster who has recently cemented a place for himself in the United first team, Jesse Lingard.
