DAGUPAN CITY — Former La Union Rep. Eufranio Eriguel was shot dead on Saturday night (May 12) as he was delivering a speech during a gathering in Barangay Capas in Agoo town, La Union province, according to Senior Supt. Genaro Sapiera, chief of the La Union Provincial Police Office. Two other civilians were killed when two gunmen opened fire at about 7:00 p.m., Sapiera said. ADVERTISEMENTAs of this posting, police investigators were still in the area and had not provided more details about the attack. His wife, incumbent La Union Rep. Sandra Eriguel, was at the meeting and was the one who alerted the police.
