Ex-Jubo League leader Samrat's wife, brother fail to appear before ACC


They were summoned to appear at the ACC headquarters in Dhaka and were asked to bring with them their National IDs, passports, and tax returns of the last three years. ACC media department confirmed the matter, adding that the ACC summoned them to investigate their illegal wealth information. Earlier on Sunday, the anti-graft agency interrogated Suraiya Akhter, wife of expelled Dhaka south organizational secretary Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, brother Masud Mahmud Bhuiyan, and another brother Hasan Mahmud's wife, Mansura Yasmin. Rapid Action Battalion arrested Dhaka South Jubo League President Ismail Chowdhury Samrat and his accomplice Arman from Comilla, fortheir alleged involvement in illicit casino operations. Meanwhile, ACC Assistant Director Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury questioned Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Ward 33 Councillor Tarekuzzaman Rajiv on charges of amassing illegal wealth of around Tk 26.17 crore.
