In continuation of the mass movement into the All Progressives Congress ( APC ), in Sokoto State, a former Deputy Controller of Nigerian Prisons Service, Alhaji Umaru Yari Sifawa, and 6441 other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday defected to the APC. This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Bashir Rabe Mani, Dan Masanin Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto. In Bodinga, 3155 members of the PDP defected to the APC, including the retired Deputy Controller of Prisons, Alhaji Umaru Yari Sifawa and a former Speaker, Bodinga Local Government, Alhaji Bello Dandari, among others. Senator Wamakko also said,” I am truly and sincerely overwhelmed with the mammoth crowds of our supporters I have seen in the two local governments. They promised to be up and doing in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state under the APC administration.
