The England U21 star was sold to Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña in August following season-long loans at Championship sides Swansea and Blackpool. Patino’s sale came less than a year after Arteta insisted that the youngster had a clear route into the Arsenal XI. Speaking about Patino’s future in October 2023, before he was sold to Deportivo La Coruña, Arteta said:‘There is always a pathway. Patino had hoped to follow a similar career path to William Saliba, who broke into the Arsenal XI after impressing out on loan.
