Local Awami League members allegedly raped a woman on December 31, 2018A Noakhali court has placed all seven accused- including alleged mastermind Ruhul Amin in the Noakhali gang rape case- on a five-day remand. Senior Judicial Magistrate Nabamita Guha passed the order on Sunday, after they were produced before the court with a seven-day remand plea. The seven accused are- masterminds Ruhul Amin and Hasan Ali Rulu, prime accused Sohel, Swapan, Badsha Alam alias Basu alias Kurailya Basu, Bechu and Jasim. On December 31, a 30-year-old mother of four was gang-raped, allegedly by a group of local Awami League members. Following the matter, the Awami League has expelled its upazila unit publicity secretary Ruhul Amin on January 5.
