District Executive Magistrate Fatema Tuz Zohra on Wednesday distributed the relief among 150 families listed as victims of the eviction. Three Santal tribesmen were killed in police firing when clashes erupted at the time of the eviction. Adibasi Parishad President Rabindra Soren said a delegation of the organisation of tribal people conveyed their demands to ruling Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader in Dhaka on Tuesday. The Awami League had sent a team to Gobindaganj to investigate the Nov 6 attack on the Santal tribe. After visiting the area on Sunday, Awami League Organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself had constituted the investigation committee and dispatched it to Gobindaganj.
