Everyone must come forward to conserve Jatka: Aminur RashidFisheries, Livestock, and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Aminur Rashid spoke today at a program inaugurating 'Jatka Conservation Week 2026' in Chandpur. He called upon all from fishermen to consumers to come forward to conserve the Jatka to protect Hilsa, a national resource, for future generations. He made these remarks at a program here to inaugurate 'Jatka Conservation Week- 2026, where he attended as the chief guest. He added that although Hilsa production once reached around 2 million tons, it had dropped to nearly 200,000 tons. Jatka Conservation Week-2026, organized by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, is being observed in 20 Hilsa-rich districts across the country.
