I wear those a good bit, not just on Veterans Day that prompted the store clerk’s verbal observation. And that includes using this column space to remember family members who served, to remember their roles. Among them was my Uncle Dave, my mother’s kid brother. Uncle Dave was aboard the USS Enterprise, one of the three ships on that 65-day voyage that included the USS Long Beach and USS Bainbridge. Our veterans’ stories are all unique in their own way.
