The reason that this has been seen as impactful for 777 Partners’ bid to acquire Everton is that 777Re has been a source of funding for some affiliated businesses with ties to some of 777 Partners’ sporting interests. The working capital provided by 777 Partners has not come from 777 Re, with the company having other avenues of finance, such as the Miami-based firm A-Cap. For now, Everton remains in limbo with regards to ownership, with the reliance on 777 Partners for funding already established.
