Everton have left David Moyes in the dark over his chances of returning to the club. Moyes left the Toffees to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in 2013 but has been linked with a surprise return to Merseyside in the wake of Marco Silva’s sacking last week. Moyes made it clear in negotiations that he wanted to return on a permanent basis as opposed to being a stop-gap until the end of season. Despite the initial keenness to bring Moyes back, club chiefs are then said to have decided against the possibility later that day.
