Everton have identified Shanghai SIPG manager Vitor Pereira as their No 1 candidate to replace Marco Silva after the board sacked the 42-year-old on Thursday. Silva was shown the door following face-to-face talks at Finch Farm in the wake of Wednesday night’s humiliating 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Toffees’ Merseyside rivals Liverpool. Sky Sports claim Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has made snaring Pereira his top priority after deciding Silva’s time at Goodison Park was up. Pereira, who Everton look at to replace David Moyes in 2013, has been in charge of Shanghai SIPG for two years and led them to the Chinese Super League title during his first season at the club. Pereira began his coaching career with Padroense in his native Portugal and has since managed at Sanjoanense, Espinho, Santa Clara, Porto, Al-Ahli, Olympiakos, Fenerbahce and 1860 Munich.
