(File photo)The events industry is ramping up again as big gatherings come back onto the calendar after the Covid-19 lockdown. Armageddon Expo organiser Bill Geradts​ believes the event will be the first public expo in Christchurch since March. The decision has paved the way for event organisers to push ahead with planned events, although some events including this year's New Zealand Agricultural Show in Christchurch, and the city's Santa Parade will not go ahead. Sports events organiser John Moore of CJM'S Events was forced to cancel about five races due to Covid-19 but quickly devised a plan to run a series of popular virtual events, raising $12,000 for charities. As well as keeping the virtual events going, Moore is forging ahead with a full calendar of running, duathlon and mountain biking races.
