Every year, the number of records being sold rises dramatically, and the industry has invested heavily in having new titles made on vinyl to sell to both young and old consumers. According to research shared by music industry analysis leader MusicWatch, used vinyl appears to be even more popular with Americans than new products. First of all, there is simply more used vinyl available. These used records typically also come at a much cheaper price. As older generations and younger kids, many of whom are just starting their collections, want more vinyl, used records will likely continue to outsell new.
