European council president Donald Tusk gloomy on new free trade agreementsCARLO ALLEGRI/REUTERS European Union President Donald Tusk: "CETA could be our last free trade agreement, if we are not able to convince people that we negotiate to protect their interests". President of the European Council Donald Tusk has warned Europe may never sign another free trade agreement – a big blow to Australia, which is about to start trying to negotiate one. On Thursday (Friday NZ Time), Tusk Tweeted "CETA could be our last free trade agreement, if we are not able to convince people that we negotiate to protect their interests". Before entering the Council meeting Tusk said CETA negotiations "are still going on". "But will the price be the slow death of EU trade policy?"
