Small business and enterpriseWitnesses testified to the data from European Union since the promulgation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In spite of some years of notice about the GDPR’s coming implementation, only 20 percent of EU companies, primarily the large firms, are digitized. It’s driving notion is that there should be a common standard for data protection across the EU. There is a view that the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) which came together in a week is somehow superior because it invented 77 regulations on business practices. People should not fall prey to the regulatory fallacy which mistakes the bureaucratization of data protection for the natural right of privacy.
