While the awarding of the penalty was dubious enough, an investigation has since been launched into how Schmeichel came to be targeted by a laser before Kane stepped up from 12 yards. England have since been hit with a charge for the laser, with footage showing that a green blur passed over Schmeichel’s face as Kane was stepping up.
