Armed men have killed more than one hundred people in the western Ethiopian region of Benishangul-Gumuz, according to the government-aligned Ethiopian Human Rights Commission. Wajera's wife and five of his children were shot dead; he was shot in the back. Other survivors told officials of the EHRC that the attackers had destroyed crops. Federal forces have been concentrated in the north of Ethiopia since fighting broke out in Tigray in November.
