The ministry further said that 102 patients have recovered in the past day, bringing the total recovery number to 116,147 so far. It said that 13,016 cases of COVID-19 are active ones, 225 of which are said to be under severe conditions. Ethiopia, Africa's second-most populous nation with more than 110 million people, has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the East African region. The East African country is the fifth-most affected country by COVID-19 in the African continent, after South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.
