Addressing the joint session of the two houses that marks the new session of the two houses, Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde presented key social, economic and political directions and plans that the East African country will pursue in the New Ethiopian year, which started on September 12. Zewde stressed that ensuring national security and stability is a major target for the government for the 2019-2020 Ethiopian fiscal year. She also underscored that the contribution of the public is important to realize the Ethiopian government's resolve in assuring a democratic election procedure. Accordingly, the Ethiopian New Year that falls on September 12, 2019 marked the beginning of the Ethiopian 2012 year.
