The Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome is expected to address the joint session of the two houses with an opening remark. The president, as part of his remark to the parliament, Ethiopia's highest legislative organ, is expected to present the Ethiopian government's plan for the Ethiopian 2017-2018 fiscal year. Accordingly, the Ethiopian New Year that falls on September 11, 2017 marked the beginning of the Ethiopian 2010 year. The joint session on Monday will commence the third year of the fifth parliamentary session of the Ethiopian House of People's Representatives and House of Federation.
