Ethiopian govt to receive €33.5mn from European Union for Disaster Risk Reduction project


Ethiopian government has signed a financing agreements amounting to 33.5 million Euros with the European Union for the EU-TRUST Fund for Disaster Risk Reduction project. The European Union has agreed to provide the gigantic amount to the government of Ethiopia after East African country's State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Admasu Nebebe signed the agreement with Head of Cooperation of the European Delegation to Ethiopia, Erik Habers. The project will be implemented in 54 months (2019-2023) by NGOs, National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Agency in Somali, SNNP, Oromia and Amhara regional states. Nebebe opined that financial grant will have a pivotal contribution to create economic opportunities for internally displaced people and capacity on disaster management for regional administration, as reported by NewBusinessEthiopia.com.
