Ethiopian athletes Kebebe and Ambi win Macau International Marathon


Ethiopia’s Debele Fikadu Kebebe claimed victory in this year’s Galaxy Entertainment Macau International Marathon men’s race on Sunday, completing the 42.195-kilometre distance in 2 hours, 14 minutes, and 5 seconds. Another Ethiopian athlete, Zinashwork Yenew Ambi, secured the top spot in the women’s competition, finishing in 2 hours, 33 minutes, and 38 seconds. The 42nd edition of the Macau International Marathon took place at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium in Taipa, starting and ending there. In the men’s competition, Kun Wang emerged as the fastest Macau athlete, finishing in 14th place, while SAR athlete Tong Tong Chio claimed the fifth position in the female competition. The 65-year-old former marathon Olympic gold medalist completed the 6.3-kilometre race in an impressive 24 minutes and 16 seconds.
