Once his nomination is approved by Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, Yitzhak who was born in Ethiopia and moved to Israel in 1991 at the age of 19, will be the Israeli army’s first colonel of Ethiopian descent. Col. Olga Polyakov has been nominated to be the first woman to lead a Home Front Command district, taking over as commander of the Home Front Command’s Dan District, which includes Tel Aviv.Col. Col. Carmel Wahabi, a Druze, has also been nominated for a position in the army’s judiciary. Please share
