Ethiopian Ethnic Group Protests Ethnic Violence

Ethiopia’s Oromia region has continued its protests on Tuesday for a third day with young men on the streets of Burayu, near the capital Addis Ababa, and in the west of the country. They are calling for an end to ethnic clashes which, since October, have left close to 50 persons dead – including police officers. Two years of huge countrywide protests had ended in April when the reformist Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed came to power. But reports say many Ethiopians are impatient for further reforms. More protests are planned and pressure on the government is increasing.
