Ethiopian Airlines will inaugurate Africa’s largest Cargo Terminal at an international aviation forum in late June, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tewolde Gebremariam said Thursday. “As the largest cargo operator in Africa we play a major role in transporting agricultural products from Ethiopia to the world market and also bring in required goods in the economy,” he added. The current cargo terminal has about 300,000 tons of annual capacity. Upon completion, the cargo terminal’s uplifting capability will be equivalent to the cargo terminals at Amsterdam Schiphol, Singapore Changi and Hong Kong International Airports, the airline said. The terminal is part of Ethiopian Airlines efforts to fly to 37 freighter destinations across five continents using 19 dedicated cargo aircraft by 2025, it said.
