Ethiopia, press sources: drone attacks in the Amhara region kill dozens of civilians

A series of drone attacks that occurred last Sunday in the Kawot and Molale districts of the North Shewa area, in the Amhara region of Ethiopia, caused the death of numerous civilians. The attack, according to the same sources, caused four victims, while five others were injured, including three teachers and a senior school assistant. Other sources cited by broadcaster “Deutsche Welle” indicate that the death toll at the school may have been higher, with seven teachers killed according to some eyewitnesses. In recent weeks several press sources had reported that Ethiopia is deploying an additional number of troops along the road that connects the northern city of Humera to the Eritrean city of Omhajer. In the event of Ethiopian intervention to dismantle the provisional Amhara government in the west, the sources note, the Amhara militias could seek an escape route from Eritrea or obtain military support from Eritrea.
