(MENAFN) On Monday, an Ethiopian official stated that clashes which erupted between security forces and gunmen over the weekend in Ethiopia's northern Amhara regional state have resulted in the killing of five persons. Tefera Wondemagehnu, Chief Administrator of North Shoa zone of Amhara regional state, affirmed fatal clashes between nameless gangsters and security forces in the zone over the weekend left five people murdered, reported state media outlet Ethiopia News Agency. Wondemagehnu also emphasized that four more persons sustained wounds during the clashes, with local and federal security forces deployed in the area to avoid a recurrence of the weekend aggression.
