The Ethiopian civil war's tragedy hit home for World Health Organisation's head Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus this week. The WHO chief on Wednesday nearly cancelled an official event because he was "not in a good shape" after hearing that his uncle was "murdered" during ongoing conflict in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Dr Tedros has been a vocal critic of Ethiopian government's role in the conflict that according to the US estimates, has "killed hundreds of thousands" and displaced millions. Dr Tedros has denied the charges. The Ethiopian government and regional forces from Tigray agreed in November to cease hostilities last month in a major breakthrough.
