ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia and Hungary have signed a new air service agreement, expanding flight frequencies between the two countries. The Director General of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) Getachew Mengstie, and his Hungarian counterpart, Mate Lowinger, signed the deal on Monday. The deal renewed the 1965 bilateral aviation deal on the basis of the development of the sector and commercial opportunities for the designated airlines of each side, per ECAA. The agreement allows the two airlines to operate 7 passenger and unlimited cargo flights each between Ethiopia and Hungary. This would create a huge market opportunity for Ethiopian Airlines, says the aviation authority.
