Ethiopia Prepares to Celebrate 6th Anniversary of GERDJanuary 19, 2017 - The Office of the National Council for the Coordination of Public Participation on the Construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam said that preparations to mark the 6th anniversary Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD) foundation stone laid is underway, according to Walta. In his exclusive interview with WIC, Public Relations Head with the Council, Hailu Abrham, said that the day will be marked under the objective of scaling up the national conciseness and generating much more money. The council has collected 64.7 million ETB so far from the Renaissance Dam Lottery. The anniversary also targets to strengthen farmers and pastoralists put their share to this national project at large than ever before, Hailu added. The public diplomacy that has been held among Ethio-Sudan and Ethio-Egypt has also continued as per the schedule.
