The Embassy was officially inaugurated in the presence of Ambassadors and the diplomatic community based in Islamabad. State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, and Minister of State of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, cut the inauguration ribbon of the opening. Minister of State of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, on her part, said that Ethiopia and Pakistan have similar economic and development challenges which need to be addressed with cooperation and collaboration. He also stressed that the opening of the Ethiopian embassy in Islamabad will have a vital role in enhancing Afro-Pakistan relations.
