Ethiopia Commited to Facilitating Peaceful Elections in Somalia - FMNovember 26, 2016 - The visiting Somalia Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke has received assurance from Ethiopia about the country's commitment to ensure peace and tranquility during elections in Somalia. Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu today held talks with the visiting Somalia Prime Minister at his office covering issues of securing the upcoming election in Somalia. Ethiopia will play its role as a neighboring country and Chair of IGAD to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduction of the election, Dr. Workneh said. Prime Minister Sharmarke thanked Ethiopia for its efforts to bring sustainable peace and security in his country. Presidential election in Somalia is scheduled for 30 November, 2016.
