borkenaJuly 2, 2019The number of people infected with Cholera in Ethiopia is not 871, Fana Broadcasting Corporation reported on Tuesday citing Ethiopian Public Health Institute. Distribution of the 871 cases is as follows:Oromia-360,Amhara-202Tigray-19Afar – 131Somali- 33Addis Ababa-125Dire Dawa – 1So far 17 people have died of Cholera, according to Dr. Getachew and most of the deaths are in the Amhara region of Ethiopia where 14 infected people died. Two of the deaths are in Oromia and one in the Afar region of Ethiopia. 26 Isolated treatment centers have been prepared across the country and nutritional and medical supplies are being distributed in areas identified as Cholera infected, according to FBC report. In Oromia region of West Hararghe Zone, about 291,000 residents in Cholera affected districts have been vaccinated.
