Ethiopia’s ruling party elected to head African party forum

Ethiopia’s ruling party Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) has been elected to lead an African political parties media forum. EPRDF was elected to head the Media Forum of the Council of African Political Parties (CAPP) at CAPP’s consultative meeting held in earlier this month in Niger, Niamey Kebede Kassa with the EPRDF secretariat office told Xinhua on Friday. CAPP is a non-governmental organization established by 47 political parities from 33 African countries in 2013 in Sudan to promote cooperation between political parties. “With its position as head of CAPP forum, EPRDF plans to explain its democratic developmental state experience influenced by successful Asian countries like China, South Korea and Japan to other members of CAPP,” said Kassa. He further said Ethiopia’s representation through the ruling party EPRDF is the latest manifestation by fellow African nations trust in Ethiopia to represent their best interest at continental and international forums.
