borkenaNovember 15,2018Former Deputy Chief of National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Yared Zerihun, is arrested earlier today as Ethiopian government intensifies hunting down what it calls criminals implicated in embezzlement of public resources and egregious human rights violations. Video footage released on EBC showed Yared handcuffed and being led to a security car. In a related development, Security Division Head of Ethi-Telecom, state-owned Telecommunication Corporation, Colonel Gudeta Olana, is arrested. The number of former government officials arrested in connection with corruption and human rights violations is now well over sixty, according to reports from the office of the Federal Attorney General.
