Two turbines of Tekeze Hydropower Dam of Ethiopia have started generating 150 megawatts of electricity this week after several months of disfunction. Only 25 percent or one of the four turbines of Tekeze Hydroelectric Dam was generating power. Tekeze Hydroelectric Dam has a total capacity of generation 300 megawatts of electric power. With the recommissioning of the two turbines Tekeze will now be able to generate a total of 225 megawatts of electricity, according to Mr. Moges. He also indicated that Ashegoda Wind, which has the capacity of generating 120 megawatts of electric power with a total of 80 turbines, is currently generating half of its capacity.
