Ewen Fergusson was photographed alongside the prime minister and David Cameron in an image of the elite Oxford dining club from 1987. SponsoredJohnson has appointed his university friend, now a lawyer, to the committee on standards in public life, the body that recently conducted a review of lobbying laws after the Greensill scandal. Sir Alistair Graham, a former chairman of the committee, described the appointment as “pathetic”. The committee was established in 1994 by John Major in the aftermath of the “cash for questions” affair.
