Ditto for when he’s between jobs, as he is now, while isolating with his wife, Ryan Hawke, and kids Levon, 18, Clementine, 12, and Indiana, 9, in New Milford, Connecticut. Usually, Hawke’s life is packed: Whenever he’s working on one project, he says, he’s preparing for the next. Hawke says he’s never played a better role—high praise from an actor known for a number of beloved characters, including the novelist Jesse in Richard Linklater’s “Before” trilogy. (Hawke jokes that he wants to make a fourth installment based on his quarantine experience.)
