A joint geoscience mapping programme across Eswatini has entered its second phase as the Southern African nation looks to develop its energy and minerals sector. The project is being undertaken by South Africa’s Council for Geoscience (CGS) and the Geological Survey of Eswatini. This initiative is a crucial component of the CGS’ Geoscience Diplomacy project, aimed at supporting regional national development imperatives through geoscience solutions. This CGS said the project holds significant importance in the Kingdom of Eswatini’s minerals, energy and socioeconomic development. The second phase aims to achieve comprehensive coverage across the entire country and further define key minerals and energy systems.
