The woman’s uncle claimed that Faruk had been trying to force her into selling contrabandsA woman's left eye was damaged when a scissor was shoved into it, reportedly by her husband, in Tangail's Kalihati upazila on Sunday. Seven years ago the woman married Faruk Hossain, who allegedly committed the crime, according to the victim’s uncle Khokon Miya. Khokon further claimed that Faruk had been trying to force the woman into selling contrabands, which she refused. A year ago, Akhi left Faruk and started working at a garment factory in Gazipur. Dr Shafiqul Islam Shojib, resident medical officer of Tangail 250 Bed General Hospital said the woman’s left eye is severely injured, she may lose sight in that.
