ProGuides Credit: ProGuidesTopline: Operating as a MasterClass for competitive gaming, Los Angeles-based ProGuides has raised $5 million in seed funding. For $7.99 a month, ProGuides offers online classes for improving performance in competitive games from popular professional gamers like Hai "Hai" Du Lam in League of Legends and Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The $5 million seed round was led by early stage consumer tech investment firm M13, with additional investments from Amplify LA, GFR Fund and Quest Venture Partners. Founded in 2015, ProGuides currently counts 1 million registered users accessing 55 courses for eight games, including Fortnite, Hearthstone and Overwatch, and it expects to expand to 20 titles by 2020. ProGuides intends to use the funding for new hires, marketing and building out its courses.
