Fighting between government forces and the Maute group in Marawi City has been confined to just three barangays. Esperon says, the Maute terrorists’ presence is limited to just about 49 hectares of the city. Marawi City has a total of 96 barangays. Esperon notes, five task groups of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are currently battling with the Maute group. Esperon adds, once the Maute group has been crushed, rehabilitation of Marawi City will begin.
