At the same time, eight students from Sameta Boys High School were arrested with five litres of petrol on Saturday night. Police are investigating a fire incident where one dormitory was torched in Eronge DEB Secondary School in Nyamira County on Sunday evening. It is still not clear why the students wanted to burn the dormitories. Jairus Onchoke, Kenya Secondary School Heads Association chairman, Kisii County told the Star that the eight are currently being held at Ogembo police station for questioning. The eight were arrested after one student whistleblew their plan to burn some structures in the school.
