Emerging connectivity requirements generated by a Moroccan digital industry strategy prompted Ericsson and Orange Maroc to forge a collaboration focused on developing private 5G systems. Ericsson stated there is a growing need for advanced and reliable connectivity among Moroccan businesses, which are advancing digital transformation strategies and contributing to broader national goals. The vendor’s contribution is advanced 5G radio and core technologies which are to be used for demonstrations at an Orange Maroc laboratory. Orange Maroc stands to cement a position as an innovator and boost its standing among a new customer base comprising “industrial and institutional players”. Ericsson and Orange Maroc intend to pave the way for the vision to be realised in sectors spanning logistics, utilities and energy, along with delivering solid connectivity for mining, ports and other strategic operations.
