Eric Tinkler is a wanted man in North Africa, with the Siya crew being informed that two of his former opponents are keen to try and lure him to their clubs. Tinkler is currently on the lookout for the next challenge in his career having left SuperSport United earlier this year and has forged a good name for himself on the continent having reached two CAF finals in the last few years. The crew got in contact with Vasili Barbis, the coach’s representative, who confirmed that they are in talks with two teams in North Africa, although wouldn’t reveal the names at this point, only saying that they were teams that he has beaten with either Orlando Pirates or SuperSport. Tinkler will now be weighing up his options as he considers what comes next for him, after spells with Pirates, SuperSport and Cape Town City during his time in South Africa, and the Bafana Bafana legend could well be open to plying his trade overseas. The 47-year-old has spoken at large of his ambition to win the CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup, and the chance to do that in North Africa could well be something that tempts him away from Mzansi’s shores.
