The former Labour MP Eric Joyce was ordered to sign the sex offenders registerThe disgraced former Labour MP Eric Joyce has received an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after he admitted to making an indecent image of a child. Joyce, 59, a former army officer, was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work by a judge at Ipswich crown court in Suffolk. Last month Joyce, who was MP for Falkirk between 2000 and 2012, was ordered to sign the sex offenders register after he pleaded guilty. He admitted possessing a 51-second film, that showed children as young as one year old, in autumn 2018. Judge Emma Peters said at the time that the video depicted a number of children, some of whom “are quite young, one is said to be 12 months old”.
