Equestrian steward Helen Christie off to her sixth Olympics

Equestrian steward Helen Christie has had to test herself for Covid-19 before she travels to the Tokyo Olympics on Friday, where she will officiate at the eventing. International equestrian judge Helen Christie, of Waikaia, is off to her sixth Olympics, where she’ll officiate as the chief steward at the eventing for the first time. Christie often travels to elite competitions overseas in her role as an international eventing judge. As well as packing her suitcase with boxes of masks, she’s also had to carry out her own Covid-19 tests at home. “Japan is only three hours behind, so I’ll be able to spend two weeks watching the Olympics,’’ she laughed.
