Fortnite EpicOne of the most controversial changes Fortnite has made in the past year was to add “siphon” to the game, a mechanic that awarded health, shields and materials on kill in order to encourage more aggressive play and discourage turtling. Originally, this was something meant for competitive play, but Fortnite introduced it for a spell to all regular game modes as well. In short, even though a very loud group of Fortnite players bemoaned the removal of siphon, especially those with huge megaphones like streamers, the actual numbers did not line up with that sentiment. If the numbers are what Epic is implying here, I suppose I understand why they did this. So, don’t expect siphon to return to Fortnite, possibly ever, unless you’re playing Arena.
